BRAMSHOTT and Liphook Voluntary Care has held an information drop-in morning at the Peak Centre.
Supported by Sainsbury’s supermarket, group members offered information, advice and support to a number of carers from the parish and surrounding areas at the Midhurst Road centre.
On hand to give advice were The Princess Royal Trust for Carers, TLC, Alzheimer’s Society, Macmillan Cancer Support, and a legal adviser on matters such as power of attorney.
Sandra Bourton, of the Liphook Carers Group, said: "We are very grateful to the organisations who came along to share their expertise with the carers in our village. Hopefully, we have helped to show them they are not alone.”
Carers usually look after someone at home. They might live with the person for whom they care or their help may enable that person to live on their own.
“Without the help of carers many people would find it hard to manage.
The group aims to signpost carers to support services that can help them in their role as well as providing a listening ear and shared advice from others in a similar situation.
Bramshott and Liphook Voluntary Care holds regular meetings on the first Wednesday of each month between 10am and noon, at the Millennium Centre on Ontario Way, Liphook. To get involved, call 01428 723972.
