SPORTING prowess, dedication and sheer, unstinting desire has been heralded in East Hampshire – in and out of the sporting arena.

The occasion was the annual East Hampshire Sports Awards at Old Thorns, near Liphook, where players, coaches and volunteers of all ages were recognised for their passionate endeavours at myriad clubs around the district.

Hosted by double silver medal-winning 400m athlete Roger Black, who hails from Gosport, accompanied by record-breaking special guest Charlotte Edwards, a shining light in women’s international cricket during her illustrious 20-year career, the awards themselves shone the spotlight on the great and good of East Hampshire sport.
