THERE were setbacks for some of the Chawton Park bowlers competing in Hampshire county indoor competitors.
Margaret Holden and Adam White were dumped out of the mixed pairs at Atherley, while Dave Sims’ triple and Adam White’s four suffered the same fate at the hands of Loddon Vale.
Margaret Leppard’s team travelled to Atherley in the ladies’ fours, only to lose on the last end of a hard-fought game.
Chawton entertained Camberley in a friendly fixture and although the teams each won three rinks, Chawton were overall winners by 113-81.
The finals of Chawton’s club competitions took place over three days and provided fine entertainment for the spectators. Apart from the bowls, players chose a varied selection of walk-on music .
In the premier men’s and ladies’ championships, Adam White defeated Barry Smith 21-10 and Margaret Holden beat Margaret Leppard 21-6. White and Holden will represent Chawton in the 2016/17 Champion of Champions competition.
