FARNHAM team Central B remain hard on the heels of their A team, the Aldershot Table Tennis League Division One leaders, after beating a two-man Fleet A outfit 9-1.
Andy Appleby and Martin Townshend were both undefeated for Central who are just three points off the lead.
Frimley A beat Ash B 7-3, with Nigel Oh, Peter Farrelly and Ce Guo all winning twice. Ben Fereday replied with a double for Ash.
Ash A edged past Tennis B 6-4. The three Daves – Phelps, Gilham and Halfpenny – all gained two wins, none getting the better of Paul Shakespeare.
The last unbeaten record in Division Two came to an end when Old Woking, fielding only two players, lost 6-4 to Cody A. Peter Anthony was unbeaten for Cody and Old Woking’s Frank Roberts won twice.
Frimley B boosted their promotion hopes with an 8-2 victory over Tennis E. David Mackinnon led the way with a maximum and was well supported by Bob Walker and Pete Good who took two apiece, both losing to Peter Bone.
Cody B got the better of Tennis D, 6-4, although George Carder was the star performer with a maximum for the losers. Dave Stenning, Duncan Sibbick and Paul Mission all bagged braces for Cody.
Braybrooke A and Frimley C shared the points. Vasco Correira was undefeated for Frimley, while Braybrooke’s Mark Armstrong and Tony Gabriel picked up doubles.
In Division Three, Cody C got past Ash E 6-4, with the winning trio of Dave Thomas, John Harvey and Stuart Stone all winning twice.
Jo Bartlett was unbeaten as Ash D beat Frimley D 7-3. Tom Gordon chipped in with a pair and Brian Greenberg won two for Frimley.
Ash F got the better of their G team in Division Four. Graham Thomas secured a hat-trick, backed up by Roger Fletcher’s double. Sheila Pretty won twice for the G team.
Braybrooke B inflicted a vital 7-3 defeat on high-flying Tennis H. Kenny Duarte led the way with a full house and team-mate Roger Westall won two. Michael Wolfe scored two for Tennis.
Frimley F maintained their promotion push with an 8-2 success against Cody E. Ted Cornell gained a maximum and Gary Smith and Steve Lawlor settled for doubles after losing to Cody’s Dave Hewitt.
