LACKLUSTRE, clueless and limp, Aldershot Town slumped to a shocking defeat at home to Shortwood United on Tuesday.

The underdogs, who compete alongside Godalming Town and Fleet Town in the Southern League Division One South & West, shattered Aldershot's FA Cup dreams at the first hurdle.

Manager Andy Scott had slammed his team for complacency after Shortwood earned their replay last weekend with a last-gasp equaliser, courtesy of lifetime Aldershot supporter Sean Lawson.

But the warning was not heeded and Shortwood were again the better side, belying the three divisions separating the sides to fully deserve their money-spinning tie against Port Vale in the first round proper.
