JUST like a London bus, a victory was a long time coming for Ash B in Division One of the Aldershot Table Tennis League and was immediately followed by another as they beat Tennis B 7-3.
The star of the evening was Hudson Foley who claimed a maximum for Ash, while James Wyncoll and Daniel Koenigsberger supported with doubles.
Earlier, Tennis B overcame a two-man Central B team 6-4. Michael Kwan was unbeaten for Tennis and Martin Townshend and Andy Appleby won two apiece for Central.
With the weather causing several postponements, only one match went ahead in Division Two, with two-man Ash C beating Cody B 7-3. Nigel Tustin and Frank Winnard were undefeated for the winners.
In Division?Three, Crawley Ridge B kept their promotion push on track with a 9-1 mauling of Tennis F. Phil Garrett and Dave Skellern chalked up maximums and Richard Hornby won twice.
Dave Thomas secured a maximum for Cody C who eased past Fleet B 7-3. Team-mate Bruce McPherson won two, as did Fleet’s Rob Brook.
Three matches were played in Division Four. Braybrooke B proved too strong for Ash G and won 7-3, thanks to trebles from Kenny Duarte and Sandra Jackson.
Fleet C edged past two-man Ash F 6-4, but the outstanding player was Graham Thomas who claimed a maximum for the losers.
Keith Johnson secured a full house as Tennis J beat Cody E narrowly, 6-4. Ken Lewington won twice in support and Dave Hewitt took two for Cody.
