Aldershot Town slipped to a 3-1 defeat at home to Carlisle United in the National League.

Dominic Odusanya was on target for the Shots, but goals from David Ajiboye (2) and Micah Obiero gave the visitors all three points in front of a crowd of 2,935 at the EBB Stadium.

The Shots had the first attempt at goal of the afternoon in the ninth minute, when Hakeem Sandah drove forward and passed to Marcus Dinanga, whose left-footed shot from just outside the box was comfortably held by Carlisle keeper Adam Desbois.

The visitors took the lead on 12 minutes through a well-worked goal. Josh Williams’ header found Miguel Azeez down the left wing, and Azeez whipped in an inviting cross across the face of goal to Ajiboye, who produced a composed finish from close range past Shots keeper Nick Hayes.

The Shots nearly got back on level terms five minutes later when Elijah Oladunjoye flashed a dangerous ball across the face of goal, but no one was able to get on the end of it.

Aldershot went close again on 19 minutes when Brody Peart’s flick on found Dinanga, who span sharply and drove into the box before firing a powerful shot straight at Desbois.

Carlisle nearly doubled their advantage in the 21st minute when Teddy Jenks slipped a pass through to Regan Linney, but Hayes was off his line quickly to narrow the angle and block Linney's effort.

The visitors went close again soon afterwards when Jenks fired a shot goalwards which Hayes parried behind for a corner.

Carlisle had another attempt at goal on 22 minutes, when Azeez’s shot from the edge of the box was well held by Hayes.

The Shots almost equalised in the 27th minute when Sandah pulled the ball back to Conor Lawless, whose curling left-footed effort from outside the box went over the bar.

The visitors went 2-0 up a minute later when Williams drove forward down the left flank and fired a low delivery into the box which Ajiboye stabbed in from close range.

Shots boss Scott Davies made his first substitution of the afternoon on 32 minutes, with Tyrese Dyce replacing Oladunjoye.

Davies had to make his second change nine minutes later, with Jack Matton replacing the injured Peart.

Carlisle nearly scored a third in the opening minute of the second half, when Azeez’s cutback picked out Linney in the box, whose low effort was well blocked by Hayes.

Davies made his third substitution of the afternoon in the 64th minute, with Tristan Abrahams replacing Dinanga.

The visitors almost went 3-0 up on 78 minutes, when Obiero fired his right-footed effort over the bar.

The Shots pulled a goal back in spectacular style in the 89th minute when Lawless’ corner was headed out to Odusanya, who fired his right-footed volley from the edge of the box into the left-hand corner of the net past a helpless Desbois.

The visitors wrapped up all three points in stoppage time when Obiero tapped the ball home from close range to make it 3-1 and condemn Aldershot to a second successive defeat.
