CHELSEA Academy’s Premier League 2 fixture against Manchester City Elite Development Squad at Aldershot’s EBB Stadium has been switched to Tuesday, December 19.
The U23 game, first scheduled for December 18, will still kick off at 7pm, with admission £3 for adults and £1 for concessions.
It should be a pre-Christmas cracker of a game, with an array of England’s 2017 World Cup winners and European Champions likely to be on show in both teams.
Chelsea’s squad has recently featured U20 World Cup winner Jake Clarke-Salter and U17 World Cup winner Callum Hudson-Odoi, plus U19 European Champions Dujon Sterling, Jacob Maddox, Reece James and Trevoh Chalobah.
City, meanwhile, have included U20 World Cup winner and Golden Ball recipient Phil Foden – who also recently made his first-team debut – and U17 World Cup-winning captain Joel Latibeaudiere, as well as U19 European Champion Lukas Nmecha, alongside many other England youth internationals.
Their squad may also feature Spaniard Brahim Diaz, another player who has recently made his first-team debut after being hailed as ‘the new Lionel Messi’ in joining City from Malaga for a fee which could rise as high as £2.4 million.
Wingers Benjamin Garre, from Argentina, and Javairo Dilrosun, a Netherlands U19 international, are also rated as two of the brightest young stars in world football.
