Farnham Town have signed striker George Alexander from National League side Hornchurch for an undisclosed fee on a contract that runs until the summer of 2028.

The 25-year-old joins the Town less than a week after star striker Owen Dean departed Farnham for National League side Yeovil Town.

Alexander came through the academy ranks at Millwall before joining National League side Bromley in the summer of 2021.

After spending the first half of the 2022-23 campaign with Bromley, Alexander joined Welling United on loan in the National League South in February 2023, bagging four goals in 11 league appearances before joining league rivals Slough Town in March, scoring six times in seven games.

Alexander rejoined Slough on loan at the start of the 2023-24 season before being recalled in November and joining Dartford on loan.

In February 2024, National League South side Chelmsford City signed Alexander on a permanent basis from Bromley.

Alexander joined Eastbourne Borough ahead of the 2024-25 campaign and enjoyed a fruitful campaign, scoring 24 goals in 38 National League South appearances to fire the Sports into the National League South play-offs.

Hornchurch signed Alexander in March 2026, and the striker helped Hornchurch win promotion to the National League via the play-offs.

Alexander started this season on a month’s loan at Chelmsford City, before returning to Hornchurch in late September and scoring the winner in a 2-1 victory against Aldershot Town in his first game back.

Over the past three years, Alexander has delivered a goal contribution every other game on average with 60 goals and ten assists in 139 appearances in the National League South.

“I’m thrilled at being able to add a player of George’s experience and quality to our football club,” said Farnham Town chairman Harry Hugo.

“We knew we had to go out and make a splash in the market following recent events, and George was the number one target for us and someone we prioritised bringing in as soon as possible.

“George has been on our radar for some time. We looked into bringing him at the registration deadline last season. It wasn’t to be, but he’s always been firmly in our thoughts.

“When you look at his record over the past three or four years, there aren’t many better strikers around at this level.

“Each of the past three seasons, George has been one of the leading strikers for teams that have reached the National League South play-offs, most notably scoring 24 in 38 with Eastbourne two seasons ago before getting promoted with Hornchurch to the National League last season.

“At 25, he’s entering his prime and has proven himself over a number of years to be a prolific goalscorer, which every club wants to get their hands on.

“Signing a multi-year deal I think illustrates our commitment to George as a player we want to build around, as well as showing a commitment to the rest of our squad and the fans that we aren’t here to sit on our hands and rest on our laurels.

“We’ve enjoyed a brilliant start to the season and we want to build on that.

“I’m delighted for Paul Johnson and the team that we’ve been able to add some real quality, and I look forward to seeing George do what he does best at Farnham Town for the foreseeable future.”
