Guildford City 4, Badshot Lea 2

THREE goals in 10 minutes midway through the first half condemned Badshot Lea to defeat against Guildford City at Wey Court on Wednesday night.

An own goal on 24 minutes set City, who play their home games in Godalming, on their way to the three points in the Premier Division of the Combined Counties League.

Kyen Nicholas doubled City’s lead on 31 minutes before Lea’s task became even tougher when Eli Ogunseye made it 3-0 just three minutes later.

Liam Roberts gave Lea hope by pulling a goal back on 63 minutes and the visitors set up a pulsating finale with a second goal on 88 minutes.

But it wasn’t to be and City wrapped up the points when Ogunseye scored his second goal of the game two minutes into stoppage time.

The result leaves Badshot Lea 16th in the Premier Division.

On Saturday, Lea host CB Hounslow at their temporary Krooner Park home in Camberley in the Combined Counties League (kick-off 3pm).
