AFTER a long wait, and not without a few problems on the way, Churt Cricket Club's new nets were opened last Friday.

The ceremony was performed by James Newman, who was last year's junior club chairman.

It was unanimously agreed that the Recreation Ground nets were well worth the wait, providing a much-needed facility for the club and the village. It will enable Churt CC to give even greater specialist coaching to promising junior cricketers. Each week, as many as 120 youngsters are supervised by a team of qualified coaches.

The senior club will use the nets on a weekly club night, as well as at weekends.
