Rushmoor Artistic Swimming Club have had a busy few months.

The annual National Combo Cup competition took place in Sheffield, and the club entered two teams.

The 15 and under team placed fourth, just out of the medals. The swimmers were Charlotte Harris, Brooke Hickey, Dixie Hickey, Elsie-Mae Saunders, Sophia Nicholls-Mair, Megan Leahy, Zoe Cowlan, Elisa Pepe and Grace Brown.

The 13 to 18 team were in a tough age group, and finished ninth out of a field of 17. The swimmers were Rebecca Harrison, Danielle Harrison, Georgia Donohoe, Florence Burbidge, Fay Cornwall, Poppy Quinn, Sophie Townsend and Eden Millett.

Rushmoor Artistic Swimming Club have been well represented on the international stage.

The European Championships were held in Belgrade, Serbia. The club’s masters had excellent results, with Andrea Holland winning gold in the tech solo and Carolyn MacDonald winning silver. MacDonald and Holland then paired up to win gold in the same age group for their tech duet and also the free duet.

Louise Ross came sixth with her tech solo and eighth for her free solo in her age group. Ross then paired up with Rachel Davies and they won gold for their free and tech duets. Janice Brignull came 11th in her age group for her free solo.

Team Rushmoor won gold for their free and tech routines. The swimmers in the team were MacDonald, Ross, Brignull, Grace Reukers, Davies, Francesca Feast, Holland and Carrie Nightingale. The masters won seven gold medals in total.

Rushmoor’s Ranjuo Tomblin made history when he became Great Britain’s first male European champion in artistic swimming. Tomblin won gold with his free solo and silver with his tech solo. He also won two silvers for his mixed duets for tech and free routine.

Rushmoor’s Cerys Snelling represented Great Britain in the Primorje Cup in Croatia. It was her first international competition, and her Great Britain youth team won bronze.
