ALDERSHOT have toiled against lower-ranked opponents this season and suffered the embarrassment of an early FA Cup exit at the hands of Shortwood who compete alongside Godalming and Fleet in the Southern League Division One.

The Shots also needed two attempts to knock Conference South side Weston-super-Mare out of the FA Trophy.

But Andy Scott's men made no mistake on Saturday when they came up against Guiseley AFC, currently going great guns in the Conference North.

Aldershot scored twice in the space of six minutes midway through the first half and should have doubled their tally by the interval before finally killing off the visitors with a third goal just past the hour mark.
