ALDERSHOT Town have added defensive experience with the club's first new signing of the summer – and welcome back one of last season's key players. Defender Glenn Wilson joins the Shots after being an ever-present captain for Salisbury City last season, while midfielder Mark Molesley has extended his contract for a second year. Wilson, 28, began his career at Crystal Palace, where he was reserve team skipper, before spells at AFC Wimbledon, Rushden & Diamonds, and Kidderminster Harriers. The Lewisham-born centre-back, who can also play at right back, enjoyed five years at Crawley Town, making 158 appearances, including 39 league games in 2010-11 as the Red Devils won the Conference National title. Loan spells at Woking and Fleetwood followed before Wilson joined Gateshead and then Salisbury City. "It's a pleasure to be here," said Wilson. "This will be my ninth season in the Conference and this is always a tough league, but I'm looking forward to another challenge. The gaffer really impressed me, and I jumped at the chance to join. "I try to be as consistent as I can and do my best for the team. I played 90 per cent of my games last season at centre-half and I enjoy that position, but over the years I've played almost every position apart from in goal. As long as the team are doing well, I'm happy." Molesley returned to Aldershot last summer for his third spell at the club and produced a series of dynamic and attacking displays in midfield. The 33-year-old originally played 42 matches for the Shots in the 2006-07 season, and returned in March 2012 for a six-week loan spell from AFC Bournemouth. In total, he has now made 84 appearances and scored eight goals. Having started his career at Hayes, Molesley has also played for Stevenage, Grays Athletic, Plymouth Argyle and Exeter City.
