A SERIES of new courses have been introduced at a thriving East Hampshire tennis club.

It follows two successful drop-in sessions in May at Medstead Tennis Club.

The aim of this month’s dual initiatives, which were held on successive Sundays, was people of all ages and abilities to simply pop in and “have a go”.

A club spokesman said: “Medstead and Four Marks have seen an unprecedented growth in population in the past few years and Medstead Tennis Club is determined to offer something for everyone.

“Moving to a new area can be daunting and isolating but Medstead Tennis Club offers a warm welcome. The club wants to offer a place for the whole family to improve their tennis, get fit, and start filling that social diary.”

The club has since introduced Friday morning cardio tennis – a high-energy fitness activity bringing together music, tennis and fun for a sociable, full body, calorie-burning, aerobic workout – and a beginners’ session aimed at encouraging back rusty players and novices.

And junior coaching sessions take place all afternoon on Saturdays, with adult coaching on Tuesday and Wednesday nights. Club nights are on Thursdays at 7pm.
