TILFORD won the I'Anson Cup for the first time since 1998 on another tense and thrilling last day of the season. Acting captain Jason Stones lifted the trophy on Saturday after leading Tilford to a comfortable win at Hindhead. Puttenham, who had started the day as leaders, were frustrated at Frensham and the draw left them just 0.05 behind on points average. It was the second time in five years that Puttenham had been pipped at the post, but Frensham were never going to roll over, while Tilford only had Hindhead – effectively relegated – standing in front of them. The top two teams both played 19 matches, but Tilford recorded three more wins. Puttenham lost only once to the champions' two defeats. For full story, see this week's Herald.
