A TONGHAM man who pleaded guilty to fly-tipping has had to pay more than £800 in fines and costs, after household waste was found dumped around a council-owned garage block.
On January 14, Guildford Magistrates’ Court heard that Michael Luckman had been clearing out his garage but had failed to remove the household waste from the area.
Initially he was given a £200 fine by Guildford Borough Council’s enforcement team but refused to pay, leading to the court proceedings.
Mr Luckman pleaded guilty to two counts of fly-tipping. He received a £200 fine for each offence and was ordered to pay £400 costs and £30 compensation.
