ON the back of last year’s successful and highly sociable Farnham Afternoon Tea, Farnham Maltings is hosting another free community gathering on Saturday, September 16, from 2.30pm to 4.30pm.
The Farnham Afternoon Tea seeks to bring people from a range of backgrounds and ages together to make new connections and celebrate what is great about where we live.
As well as enjoying complimentary refreshments, there will be chance to enjoy live music by Rachel Palmer, to find out about local community organisations, to peruse the Heritage Open Day exhibition and to enjoy pop-up craft activities.
Two free shuttle bus loops will run: one to Wrecclesham and The Chantrys and a second to Hale.
Tea, coffee, scones and entertainment is all free, and visitors are invited to bring a cake to share or tins and packets for a contribution to the Farnham Foodbank.
Community ambassadors from local groups and organisations will be present to share information on how visitors can get more involved in the local community.
Gavin Stride, director of Farnham Maltings, said: “The Maltings has always been much more than an arts organisation but we’re aware now, more than ever, of the essential role we play in promoting a set of inclusive, creative communities in Farnham and beyond.
“I enjoyed everything about last year’s event and am delighted that we can throw another Afternoon Tea to celebrate all that’s good about our town.”
Local community groups, clubs and organisations are invited to come along ready to invite others to their activities; to represent a group, contact Christine Lee on 01252 745471 or alternatively [email protected].
