BLOOMING Art is running again this year as part of Farnham Town Council’s bid to win Britain in Bloom.

Residents can boost the bid by taking part in “in Bloom” activities being organised by the town council all around the town, including ‘Blooming Art 2016’, an art competition open to all residents of the Farnham area aged over five years old.

To compete, create a collage on the theme of ‘A Rose by Any Other Name’. There is no entry fee and work needs to be submitted in June - for details see the Blooming Art facebook page or see Best of Farnham events page.

There are five competition categories: Junior (5-11), Teenage (12-16), young adult (17-25), over 25 and group entries. There will be prizes for each category, sponsored by Waterfords estate agents.

Three free art workshops are bing held at Farnham Maltings, which entrants might find useful. They are from 7pm to 9pm on Tuesday, May 31, and from 10am to midday and 1.30pm to 3.30pm on Thursday, June 2.
