ROPLEY’S Raise St Peter’s appeal team are on the hunt for professional and amateur artists to contribute their work.
They will be used at the Art for St Peter’s event on February 22.
All proceeds from the blind auction will go towards the rebuilding of the 12th century church, destroyed by fire in 2014.
Although the insurance claim will cover the cost of the basic rebuild, there is still a shortfall of around £200,000 to complete phase one and fund raising is ongoing.
The target for the Art for St Peter’s project is 400 pieces of work in any medium: from sketch to detail, photograph to textile, or sculpture, it can be of any size, although all pieces (or photographs of larger pieces) will be placed in an A5 envelope for the auction, to maintain the element of surprise.
Entries must be in by the end of January so they can be photographed and put up, anonymously, on a website advertising the event, as well as being shared on Instagram @stpetersropley and other social media.
