THE Rotherfield Scout District has held its bi-annual Beaver skittles competition.

Seventy Beavers representing colonies across the district took part at the 3rd Alton Scout headquarters on Chawton Park Road.

Each team of 10 competed in this round-robin event, enthusiastically bowling skittles.

During the afternoon, the Beavers also made animal and dinosaur collages.

The afternoon concluded with an impromptu, campfire-style, singalong led by Lee Robinson, from Bentley Scout group.

1st Headley colony won the best collage competition and the skittles was won by a combined team from Blackmoor and Whitehill and Tarzan colonies (Four Marks and Ropley).

Thanks have been expressed to District Beaver leader Malcolm Vincent and his SAS (Scout activity support) team for putting on the event.

The Beavers are now looking forward to next year’s competition which will be kurling – or indoor curling without ice!
