A FORMER member of staff at the Farnham branch of Lloyds TSB has been jailed for transferring almost £140,000 of customers' money into his personal account.

Luke Gifford, 25, of Winkton Close, Havant, was employed as a personal banker in July 2008 and worked to advise and oversee customer transactions.

But Guildford Crown Court heard that he falsified signatures to transfer large sums of money from the accounts of four customers, three of them elderly women in their 70s and 80s, into his personal account. The eventual total was £137,090.
