NO further action is to be taken against former county council leader Freddie Emery-Wallis for accessing pornographic sites from a council computer.

The decision comes days after he was released from prison for indecently assaulting two teenage boys.

Hampshire County CouncilÕs standards and procedures committee decided on Monday against taking action against the disgraced Tory councillor because his conviction earlier this year means that he is no longer a councillor.

Police had previously found that more than 40 pornographic sites had been looked at on Emery-WallisÕ council-owned computer.

He was released from HMP Winchester at the weekend after serving a four-month sentence.

However, until Monday, Hampshire County Council had not ruled out recovering compensation from Emery-Wallis for the cost of the telephone calls when he accessed the sites on the internet.

The report to the committee said: ÒMr Emery-Wallis is no longer a county councillor and is indeed disqualified from being so for another five years.

ÒAny debt recovery action is likely to be time consuming and complex with no guarantee of success.Ó
