ALE lovers raised a hefty £6,500 for local charities on Saturday – but it will be the last time Alton's Winter Beer Festival will be at the historic Alton Maltings building.

The home of the Harvest Church, it was made clear via a letter that a beer festival was no longer appropriate on church property.
