AROUND 100 people went along to the Badshot Lea community Easter egg hunt on Saturday, which raised nearly £600 for Chloe’s and Sophie’s Special Ears Fund (CSSEF).

Participants visited Badshot Lea Village Infant School, walked around the fishing lake, Tice’s Meadow and visited the Church, before finishing at the Kiln Village Hall.

Activities at the Kiln included taekwondo and ballet demonstrations, tours of the photography studios and the Hop Room, and a bunny hunt with prizes. The slot-car racing was also a huge hit with the children - and a few adults.

Gemma Ball, headteacher at the school, said: “We were so pleased, far more people turned up than we expected. We were absolutely thrilled by the support of the wonderful local community.”

A huge thank you goes to all the volunteers, to everyone who came along on the day and a special thank you to Sara Jones who co-ordinated the whole event. Some participants have even asked for it to become an annual event.
