Farnham's Jekyll and Hyde form continued with a below-par performance against a Viking side they should have beaten comfortably.
The week before, Farnham had made light of numerous injuries and beaten Chessington & Hook by two clear goals.
But on Saturday their usually reliable defence had an off-day and only another outstanding display by goalkeeper Chris Edmonds kept the scoreline respectable.
Viking certainly worked hard and went on the offensive from the first whistle, forcing Vince Decicco to clear off the line.
Edmonds made three good saves in quick succession, but Viking's pressure paid off on 19 minutes when Hinkson's corner was headed on by Stocking and English nodded in at the far post.
Almost immediately, Town had a great chance to equalise. Allan Morgan's pass released Sammy Middleton who ran on to get round goalkeeper Davis, only to see his resulting cross headed over an open goal by Andy Clarke.
Five minutes later, Viking moved into a two-goal lead, Yearsley setting up Smith who drilled a low left-foot shot into the bottom corner.
On the half-hour, Farnham got back into contention when Morgan latched on to Decicco's long punt upfield and outpaced the defence to lob the ball over Davis.
This lifted Farnham and they attacked from the start of the second half. But Scott Baker and Morgan squandered early chances and Viking were soon back at the other end, bringing the best out of Edmonds on several occasions.
Farnham had one bit of bad luck in the 70th minute. Matt Edwards' header from a Middleton corner was scrambled off the line and the ball cleared only as far as Middleton who shot against the crossbar.
On 85 minutes, Viking made sure of the points when a Yearsley free-kick was headed home by impressive midfielder, Smith.
Farnham enjoyed plenty of possession, but lacked the quality to unlock a solid defence.
