BORROWERS, Hobbits, pirates, Narnians and wizards were just some of the book characters who made their way to All Hallows Catholic School last Thursday.

More than 200 students at the Farnham school dressed up as characters from a range of books to mark this year’s World Book Day in style.

Year 7 students were also invited to take in an unwanted book they’d finished with as part of the school’s great book exchange.

Many wrote a short review on a book mark, which was put inside the book, before exchanging it for a different book at the book market.

As well as dressing up as characters from books, members of staff wore a label with a book title all day, and students had to match the teachers’ name to the book title.

There were also more than 100 entries to a competition to design a new book cover and all students took part in a book quiz.
