PHYLLIS Tuckwell Hospice has recently received a cheque for £600 from the Fearnhamme Freemasons Lodge.
The lodge, whose members raised the money at monthly meetings, have supported Phyllis Tuckwell for more than 20 years.
The donations they have made over this time have helped the charity in its work to provide supportive and end-of-life care for patients and relatives facing a terminal illness, such as cancer.
Each year, the money raised by members of the lodge is donated to a charity chosen by that year’s master of the lodge, which in 2015 was Clive Bradbrook.
Clive chose to support Phyllis Tuckwell and accompanied by the lodge’s charity steward, Barrie Huggins, came to the hospice to present the charity with a cheque.
Barrie and Clive were met by community fundraiser Charli Quay-Barnham, who took them on a tour of the building so that they could see the work which their generous donations have helped to fund.
Charli Quay-Barnham, said: “We would like to thank Fearnhamme Lodge for this kind donation. Their generosity and ongoing support is hugely important to us and it is nice to be able to show them around the hospice, so that they can see the services which donations such as these help make possible.”
