HAMPERS filled with toys and gifts have been donated to children who spent this Christmas in care.

Tania Sutlieff initiated the project with Professional Training Solutions, which provides residential childcare training to Surrey County Council.

She appealed for donations via Facebook posts to the Tongham, Farnham, Ash and Ash Vale community groups.

Businesses also got involved, including Cake My Day, Mint Bakery and Charlene Horner of Arbonne.

ME Holdings, a venture capital partnership based in Farnham, supported the project by wrapping gifts and writing cards to children in various homes across Surrey.

Tania distributed the hampers along with Sharon Lock, director of Professional Training Solutions, last Saturday.

Altogether, six big Christmas bags were donated to children’s homes and four hampers were handed to respite centres in the area.

Tania said: “I just love doing it. I feel so overwhelmed and get quite emotional sometimes. When you’re giving to someone, you take on their emotions.

“It’s not about the physical man in a red suit, it’s about the spirit of it.

“For these children who’ve had a traumatic time, it shows them that strangers care.”

She wanted to thank ME Holdings and Professional Training Solutions who “made it possible and encouraged me”.
