‘LIFE on the ocean wave’ was the subject of the first Royal Senior School lecture of the academic year.
Commander Matthew Marriott and Lieutenant James Uglow of HMS Diamond – The Royal School’s affiliated ship – gave Year 11 and sixth form students an insight into the warship’s make-up and key duties.
Upper sixth student Cameron Marshall said: “We heard about the primary roles of the Royal Navy in modern times: providing security at sea, preventing conflict, protecting our economy and helping to maintain international partnerships. They also provide humanitarian aid where needed.”
