PHYLLIS Tuckwell’s ‘Night Nurse’ appeal has raised almost £34,000 – enough for the charity to recruit a new nurse to enable it to care for more patients in their own homes through the night.
This appeal is the latest development in the Farnham charity’s current plans to extend its Hospice Care at Home service, with the aim of providing care to patients and their families at home around the clock, just as at the hospice in Waverley Lane.
“We would like to thank everyone who donated to our Night Nurse appeal,” said Anna Coassin, individual giving manager at Phyllis Tuckwell.
“This extra help will enable us to provide more night care for local people who require additional support toward the end of their life – a time when patients and families often feel most vulnerable. Our new nurse completed her induction in August and is now a fully-fledged team member.”
