SURREY County Council's long fight against government house-building plans has been dealt a severe blow.
The government has announced that the county council must find space for 47,200 new homes for the period 1996 - 2016 - well above the 35,000 figure that the council has long argued is an acceptable and sustainable level. And there is no avenue for appeal.
