The Friends of Ditcham Park School raised a whopping £3,000 from a “fantastic” carnival-themed May fayre.

Even rain couldn’t dampen the enthusiasm as the event was moved inside the school sports hall, where a colourful array of stalls and games offered fun for all the family.

Raffles, a photo booth, a book stall and a lucky dip all proved popular.

But the star attraction was undoubtedly the surf simulator, which proved very competitive as young and old had a go at beating the balancing record.

And the little ones weren’t forgotten thanks to a bouncy castle and slide.
