FARNHAM Town Council has awarded the Sandy Hill Bungalow community centre a £2,000 grant to help provide services for the Hale community.
The Sandy Hill Community Bungalow Trust recently took over the management of the community centre from the Wessex Housing Association, and now directly employs its manager.
To aid this transition, the town council agreed a £2,000 grant to help the centre move forward and further develop a range of activities and services for the community.
The Mayor of Farnham, Pat Frost. dropped in on The Bungalow’s annual general meeting in December to present the grant, joined by animals from the Birdworld wildlife park.
She said: “I must pay tribute to the work of the trustees in keeping such a valuable community facility open to the local community. I was delighted to see the centre buzzing on my visit and so many local children captivated by the animals.”
