A LONG-awaited plan to complete the redevelopment of an East Hampshire brewery has left some councillors feeling bitter.

Plans to build 32 apartments on the former Gales Brewery site in Horndean were rubber-stamped by councillors last Thursday.

The block proposed by Linden Homes is largely four stories in height and will contain a mixture of 12 single-bedroom and 20 two-bedroom flats.

The plans also propose a communal garden on the first floor and 52 parking spaces, with access via the archway between the tower and pub.

Most villagers should welcome the news as the London Road site has been a wasteland since everything but the tower was demolished last year.
