EGGAR’S School received a visit from MP Damian Hinds, the Minister for Employment.

After meeting staff and students, Mr Hinds spent some time talking with headteacher Patrick Sullivan and said he was particularly interested and impressed by the school’s ‘Eggar’s Experience’ programme.

Eggar’s Experience is a set of challenges and opportunities that give students the chance to show and develop their abilities, talents and skills and complement their academic work.

In particular, Join the Club offers a wide variety of extra-curricular opportunities aimed at enriching the experience of students. Last year more than 52 different clubs and societies were on offer.

Mr Hinds said this was “a really exciting innovation and fantastic opportunity” for young people which will develop their personal skill set and enable them to follow their hobbies and interests while working towards their GCSE qualifications.
