FARNHAM running group RunFitMum and its offshoot RunFitKids stepped out on Sunday, July 17, for Race for Life and raised more than £1,200 for Cancer Research.
A total of 30 mums, grandmas and children, who ranged in age from five to nine, took part in the 5km race at Prospect Park, Reading, in sweltering conditions.
RunFitMum encourages women of all abilities to pull on their trainers and get running. The club completed its first Race for Life last year, but this year, the kids no ?longer wanted to be on the sidelines and insisted on taking part as well.
“It was a fantastic day out and great to see that the children are no longer content to just spectate,” Caroline Eaton, one of the club’s founders, said: “They really got into it and loved the run and the fundraising part of the day.”
