THE curtain went up for Highfield South Farnham School’s end-of-term performance of Oliver.

The show ran across two nights on July 11 and 12, and according to one parent boasted “fabulous scenery” while another said it was “the best show yet!”

Main character Oliver was played by year three’s Luke Drew. The pickpocket Artful Dodger, Nancy, Bumble and antagonist Bill Sykes were played by year six pupils, Calum Bates, Aleijah James, James Richardson and Atique Aslam. ‘Leader of the gang’ Fagin was played by year five’s Jack Adams.

The dedication from both staff and children was highly praised as one attendee commented: “I couldn’t believe that was a primary school play. It gives the professionals a run for their money!”

Mentions and thanks must also go to Blinding Lights, Frensham Heights School, NSM fencing and Ollie West as without them the production would not of been such a success.
