EASEBOURNE and Midhurst are to be among the 1,000 villages, towns and cities that will welcome the Olympic Flame.

Torchbearers will carry the Olympic Flame through the area on Monday, July 16, and will visit Rogate, Midhurst, Easebourne, Tillington, Petworth, Duncton, and Chichester.

The announcement was made by the London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games this week.
