PHYLLIS Tuckwell Hospice has appealed for new volunteers in the build-up to Good Deeds Day this Sunday (April 10).
Since its launch in 2007, Good Deeds Day has brought together millions of people, helping them to help others, for the benefit of everyone.
It is based on the simple idea that every single person can do something good to improve the lives of others and positively change the world.
Volunteering is a great way to help others, and many charities rely heavily on those who give their time, for free, to support them.
Farnham-based hospice care charity Phyllis Tuckwell is hugely dependant on volunteers, who help in a wide variety of roles, from assisting on the ward, to gardening, fundraising, counselling, or giving therapies such as massages and reflexology.
The charity is currently looking for volunteers to help on its in-patient unit on Thursday lunchtimes and evenings, as ward clerks, supper volunteers and in its coffee shop.
Anyone interested can visit the website www.pth.org.uk/volunteering, call Karen Rackley on 01252 729431 or email [email protected].
