AN eleventh hour plan has swung in to action to save Alton's Willhall Farm oasts from possible collapse. The early 19th century oasts were listed two years ago when concerns were first expressed over the state of the building.

The work complies with an Urgent Works Notice, served by East Hampshire District Council in December last year, which requires owners Winchester College to keep the listed building wind and weather tight.
