RAINBOW Trust Children’s Charity has been selected as Sainsbury’s Water Lane’s Charity of the Year 2017/18 by its customers and will raise awareness and funds for the charity, which supports families caring for a child with a life-threatening or terminal illness.
Sainsbury’s Water Lane in Farnham, has committed all of its annual fundraising efforts to help the charity.
Rainbow Trust will fundraise, increase awareness and engage with employees across the company throughout 2017/18.
Peter Smith, store manager at Sainsbury’s Water Lane, said: “All of us at Sainsbury’s Water Lane are delighted that our customers chose to support Rainbow Trust as our local charity partner for the year.
“Having met with regional fundraising manager Katherine Brooks, and hearing first-hand the fantastic work and invaluable support they give to local families, I know that we can really make a difference in our local community by working in partnership with such a worthwhile charity.”
Rainbow Trust is a national charity which offers emotional and practical support for the whole family, from their child’s diagnosis, during treatment and if needed, through bereavement and beyond.
It relies almost entirely on voluntary donations and thanks to its generous supporters helps more than 2,000 families in England.
Emma Haines, director of marketing and fundraising, concluded: “We would like to thank Sainsbury’s for choosing Rainbow Trust as its Charity of the Year 207/18.
“The partnership will have a great impact for Rainbow Trust, enabling us to support more families who have a child with a life-threatening or terminal illness.
“We have already received a great response from employees willing to fundraise for us and we can’t wait for the partnership to start.”
