CHILDREN from Liphook Infant and Junior School celebrated both the royal wedding as well as the Queen’s 65th Coronation Jubilee at the weekend.
Activities included a rock treasure hunt to remember King John, cake decorating to remember Alfred the Great, theatre masks to remember Oliver Cromwell, while Hollycombe steam rides helped remembered the age of Queen Victoria, while a disco was held to remember Charles II.
A total of 650 children helped decorate red, white and blue pieces of bunting to give the day a festive feel, and every pupil went home with a booklet, giving details of each of the monarchs they had celebrated.
They played mini-Commonwealth Games, had fun with a Royal wedding photo booth and the day ended in a rousing chorus of God Save the Queen.
Head Michele Frost said: “What an amazing way to celebrate two important historic Royal events.
“Children have learned a lot about the monarchy and about what makes us British, while creating their own memories of this special day.”
