A busy backroad in Haslemere will be closed from today (Wednesday) until November 1, while Network Rail undertakes work to a railway bridge.
Church Lane has closed between Haslemere Hospital and Tanners Lane/High Lane for works to the Church Lane railway bridge.
A diversion route will take motorists via the High Street, Lower Street and Tanners Lane. Network Rail has not given any detail other than to say the works are “for rail purposes”.
It does, however, coincide with a week-long closure of the Portsmouth line for the latest signalling works.
