MEMBERS of the two Farnham Rotary clubs have given a warm welcome to new students from around the world who were starting their courses at the University for the Creative Arts.

At a reception at Farnham Castle last Thursday, around 40 students from countries as diverse as Taiwan, India, Bahamas, Italy, Finland and Cyprus were welcomed by Victor Duckett, president of Farnham Rotary Club, and Lynda Pattie, president of Farnham Weyside Rotary Club.

They set out the ideals of Rotary and offered to help the students make the most of their time in Farnham.

Tours of the castle were organised which gave them an impression of the rich history of the town, and the evening finished with an impromptu piano performance given by one of the students.
