THE Olympics and Paralympics appeared to have had a positive effect on the annual races organised in Alice Holt Forest by Farnham Runners on Saturday.

The event includes races for all ages, from an under-fives dash to highly competitive five and 10k races.

Whole families took part this year and all the races ran at close to capacity, with the limit for the 10k race being reached.

Pictured at the the joint start of the five and 10k races, the front runners were Sandra Nowood of Farnham Runners (106), who finished fourth in the ladies l0k, and Mark Greenwood of AFD (438), the men's 10k winner.
