AS a change to the traditional Christmas nativity play the children in Key Stage Two at Potters Gate entertained packed audiences to a musical delight.

A colourful extravaganza in the form of music from Joseph and the Technicolour Dreamcoat dazzled parents and local dignitaries over three performances.

Joshua from year four took on the role of Joseph and was well supported by his 11 brothers and the ‘Elvis’ Kings. Each year group wore a different coloured top to represent the colours of the dreamcoat which was a sight to behold.

All the children sang the now familiar tunes with gusto and excitement with the highlight being the ensemble singing Any Dream Will Do.

Director Alexis Carpenter said: “We were all incredibly proud of the way the children rose to the occasion and sang so beautifully. There is something very special about a happy group of over 200 children singing in unison.

“Many people had goosebumps during Close Every Door and the finale was vibrant and exciting. Thank you to all who helped with the production or came to watch.”
