There were some smashing pumpkins in Badshot Lea as the Community Garden gave families a treat in the run-up to Halloween.
The garden recently held a carving session with families booking in to have a go at transforming pumpkins grown in the garden into fearsome faces.
Badshot Lea Bloomers were on hand to help and to supply all the tools for scooping out the pumpkin innards and carving the faces. Around 40 pumpkins were carved and, according to the Bloomers, “no fingers were lost”.
Ada and her father Simon ‘Ed’ Edwards were among the carvers and planned to place a candle inside to display outside their home on Halloween.
Not that Ada would be there: “I’m going trick or treating” she told the Herald.
