RESIDENTS of Glorney Mead in Badshot Lea pulled out all the stops to stage a street party coinciding with the Queen’s 90th birthday celebrations.

Two elderly residents, Richard and Rose, generously donated £50 towards the costs of the event and one resident, Barney Jones, provided a large high quality barbecue drum specially made for the street party and which afterwards was donated to Frimley Scouts.

He was awarded the unofficial ‘MGM’ - Member of Glorney Mead - for his efforts.

Another resident set up, at short notice, a large screen on an adjacent garage door to show the England football match.

Activities for children included a bouncy castle, coconut shy, plastic duck pond and splat the rat. Popular postman, Tim Bishop, was invited to officially open the event.
