RALLY for Heroes hosted yet again another successful event, as super cars took over land in Tilford in order to raise as much as possible for armed forces charity, SSAFA.
In July 2016, Stuart and Julia Stinson of Badshot Lea, participated in Rally for Heroes in their Maserati Gran Turismo, the pair together with the whole team raised more than £120,000 during their European Tour for SSAFA.
The first leg of their trip saw them tackle the Top Gear track at Dunsfold aerodrome before taking on Belgium, the Swiss Alps, Italy and the Fiat factory in Turin, a two-day stop off in Monaco, the Pyrenees and Spain, and finally France before arriving back in the UK.
Every penny raised went to SSAFA’s practical, emotional and financial support to anyone who is serving or has ever served with the British Armed Forces and their families.
This event is run every two years, and in the interim year they each stage their own event in their area to raise funds and keep the charity in the public eye.
This year’s event was ‘TheCarDo’ which took place in Tilford late last month.
The event featured super cars, supercar rides, bikes, 4x4s, dealerships, fun and frolics for all the family.
Alongside the cars there was a silent auction with donations from local businesses such as The Hog’s Back Hotel, Birdworld, as well as big names like McLaren, M&S, Halfords and Homebase.
